Our new websites are designed to highlight the District and our schools and provide families and staff with the information they need.

While we are excited to launch the new sites, the project does come with a few potential (and temporary) issues. We request your patience and assistance as we continue to refine the pages on each site.

AVID Elective Grading Scheme

AVID Elective student grades are based on four components: Tutorials , In-Class Assignments, Binder Checks,  and Community Involvement. The AVID Elective classes adhere to the following grading scheme:

  • Tutorials and Academic Support - 20%
  • Class Assignments and Projects - 40%
  • Binders and Calendars - 20%
  • School, Community and Social Involvement - 20%

Binders

All AVID Elective students are required to use and maintain a 2-3" binder, divided by sections into each of their classes. Part of this binder includes the use of a calendar, planner, or agenda to keep track of daily and long-term assignments, as well as important school dates.
